Graduation Requirements
Below is a checklist of the 27 credits required for all CCS students to graduate and earn a high school diploma:

*Students who have a Grade 9 Entry Year of 2021-2024: NC now requires TWO directed electives. Those electives have to be from Art, World Language or CTE (any combination of two).
*Starting with Students who have a Grade 9 Entry Year of 2025: ONE of the TWO directed electives must be from ART (if the student did not take a qualifying class in Middle School). The other directed elective can be from Art, World Language, or CTE.
*Starting with Students who have a Grade 9 Entry Year of 2026 (current Rising 9th graders): ONE elective credit must be from an Art course and ONE must be a Computer Science credit.
Most 4 year colleges and Universities strongly suggest two credits of the same foreign language for college admission. This is not a graduation requirement, but should be done if a student wants to meet this minimum admission requirement. See more info here for UNC System Admissions Info.
