College Credit in High School

CCHS Students can earn college credit while in High School two different ways (see below).

Why do this? Students can potentially leave High School with upwards of 2 years of college completed, saving themselves thousands of dollar$$$$.

Students interested in any of the programs below should let their Counselor know at their Registration appointment.

Students will need to apply, and in some cases, test to get into a program class.

Career & College Promise

 Program Description
Students that are 16+ can take college-level courses @ Rowan Cabarrus Community College. Examples of classes include technical classes like Cosmetology, HVAC, or Computer Programming. OR college transfer classes like; English 111, Psychology 150, many others. CCP students earn high school AND college credit.

Cost 
Tuition and books free. Student pays for fees ($30 per class).

Advanced Placement (AP)

Program Description
Students can take college-level courses at CCHS, earning both High School credit and potential college credit, depending on their score on the May AP test for each course. Students also can earn two additional weighted quality points for AP classes.

Cost 
Free. (Test is free as of 1/9/17).
